We’re Steven and Elizabeth, co-founders of Sommelier Nordiq — a couple in life and in business. Here are five questions to help you get to know us better. No filter, just us (with a healthy dose of organized chaos and love).
1. Why Nordiq?
Because it all started in the North. We spent four years living in Sudbury, Northern Ontario — a place that’s part winter wilderness, part spiritual bootcamp. That time shaped us. It gave us space to think differently, to live off the beaten path, and to dream up a project we could build together.
2. The biggest challenge of working as a couple?
Knowing where the business ends and the love story begins. (Spoiler: it’s blurry.) But we like it that way. Sommelier Nordiq is our life project, and it fuels us more than doing things separately ever could.
3. Steven’s greatest strength?
His intensity. He approaches wine like an artist with a palette — full of instinct, emotion, and vision. He dreams big and moves with purpose.
4. Elizabeth’s greatest strength?
A rare mix of structure and softness. She keeps the ship steady, cares deeply, listens well, and brings heart into everything she does. And yes, you can taste it.
5. Five years from now?
Here… and beyond. We want Sommelier Nordiq to become the cool Quebec wine brand — rooted, bold, and full of feeling. One day, maybe even crafting wines in other northern terroirs. But first, we’re grounding ourselves right here.
