Q: Do you have your own vineyard?
A: No. We do not own any vineyards or vineyards. We produce our wines from grapes grown at partner vineyards in Quebec, including Château Fontaine in Saint-Hyacinthe and Château de Cartes in Dunham. You can visit the facilities where Nordiq wines are produced by appointment. Contact us, and we’ll arrange a customized tour or tasting.
Q: Are Nordiq wines produced in Quebec?
A: Yes. All Nordiq wines are produced in Quebec from grapes grown in Quebec vineyards. Our mission is to showcase the potential of northern grape varieties and to offer modern, accessible wines that are deeply rooted in their region.
Q: Where can you buy Nordiq wines?
A: Many of our wines are available at SAQ locations. You can also find our wines at select restaurants, wine bars, and specialty stores. Please email us with your region or neighborhood, and we’ll help you find the nearest retailer. A selection is also available directly through our online store.
Q: What is a northern grape variety?
A: Northern grape varieties are varieties developed to withstand the climatic conditions of Quebec and other cold regions. They offer a wide range of aromas and allow us to create expressive, fresh wines that are perfectly suited to our terroir. At Nordiq, we work exclusively with these Quebec grape varieties.
Q: What does “blended wine” mean?
A: A blended wine is a wine made from several grape varieties. At Nordiq, each cuvée is the result of careful blending designed to balance freshness, fruit, acidity, and complexity. Our wines typically contain between two and five different grape varieties to create a unique character.
Q: Are Nordiq wines dry or sweet?
A: All of our wines are made in a very dry style. We focus on fresh, easy-to-drink, fruit-forward wines that highlight the natural character of northern grape varieties and pair well with food.
Q: Are Nordiq wines natural or organic?
A: Our wines are not certified organic or as natural wines. However, we prioritize a minimal-intervention approach, both in the vineyard and in the winery, to preserve the freshness, purity, and unique character of northern grape varieties. Our goal is simple: to let the fruit express itself and to craft authentic wines that reflect the Quebec terroir.
